The 3-cylinder turbo-diesel engine of the 1540 and the 4-cylinder diesel unit of the 1552 are made in Japan by Iseki, which is the third largest company in Japan manufacturing farm equipment and machines.
Both engines from Iseki are liquid-cooled, assuring endurance for field work requiring long hours of work. The fuel tank capacity of the 1540 is 40 liters and the 1552 has 50 liters
The 1540 and 1552 both offer 4WD and PTO (power take-off) with electro-hydraulic controls. This PTO feature allows users of both the 1540 and 1552 to undertake various field work besides towing farm implements and garden maintenance equipment.
This allows the 1500 Series to be mounted with farm implements that require hydraulic controls like trailing disc harrows. This widens the options on the farm implements the 1550 Series can tow.
